Executive Vice President
Ty Yamamoto transferred to the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the Spring 2016 semester and is double majoring in Management and Marketing. He is from Mililani, Hawaii and loves walking his dog, going on runs, and going out for brunch with his friends. This is his third semester in the Society for Human Resource Management – Aloha Chapter (SHRM) and second semester on the executive board. He joined SHRM during the Spring 2017 semester and served as the Director of Marketing for the Fall 2017 semester. As the Executive Vice President, his duties include; coordinating community service events, maintaining alumni relations, helping to establish a nurturing and cohesive executive board ohana, and supporting the President in his absence. He is excited to help evolve SHRM into a better organization while making new friends and memories.
Emolynne Rivera is the executive secretary of the SHRM Aloha Chapter. She is currently a senior majoring in Marketing and International Business at the Shidler College of Business. She will also be receiving a minor in Korean Language Studies. This will be her second semester in SHRM and first semester serving as an executive board member. Her responsibilities as the secretary include tracking active status, recording attendance and minutes during meetings, as well as making room reservations. Emolynne hopes to gain leadership skills, as well as networking with others including members and professionals. During her free time she loves working out at the 24 Hour Fitness gym, watching Korean dramas, and exploring new food places on the island.
Director of Finance
Jessica Sheppard is a senior at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is pursuing her BBA in Human Resource Management. Jessica was born in Hawaii; however, was raised in Guam and graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam. She works a Barista for Starbucks and enjoys hiking, going to the beach, and watching sunsets during her free time. She joined the Society of Human Resource Management in Spring 2017 and then joined SHRM’s executive board the following semester in Fall 2017. As Director of Finance, Jessica is in charge of securing funding for SHRM, completing tax forms, and recording revenue and expenses. She hopes to gain valuable leadership skills and expand her professional and social network in her final semesters as an undergraduate student.
Grant Choi is a junior pursuing a degree in Human Resources. He grew up in Irvine, CA and came to Hawaii in the fall of 2015. He is continuing into his third semester in SHRM and is excited to meet new people, network with professionals, and to gain more knowledge. Joining SHRM was one of the greatest decisions he has made and he is always grateful for all the knowledge and skills he has acquired as well as the people he has met. As the Director of Fundraising, some of his responsibilities include organizing multiple fundraisers throughout the semester and facilitating car washes. Outside of SHRM, Grant plays the tuba in the University of Hawaii Marching Band.
Darrell is a senior pursuing a BBA in Management at the Shidler College of Business. After being raised in a military family, he finally decided to make Hawaii his home. Darrell is a graduate of Mililani High School where he was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America club and has attend the University of Hawaii ever since. This is his second semester in SHRM and he looks forward to his position as the Director of Corporate Relations. As the Director of Corporate Relations, Darrell is responsible for coordinating company tours and Professional Interaction Night. He hopes to contribute to the organization and its beliefs while fostering strong relationships and helping expand SHRM’s professional network. In his spare time, Darrell loves to play basketball, hike, and spend time with his friends and family.
Keri is a junior at the University of Hawaii at Manoa pursuing degrees in Human Resource Management and International Business. Keri first joined SHRM in Spring 2017 and will be the Director of Professional Development for Spring 2018. As Director of Professional Development, Keri is responsible for professionally developing the members of SHRM through a variety of diverse workshops as well as the week-long Mock Interview event. Currently, she works as a student assistant at the Center for Japanese Studies. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, bowling, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with her friends.
Director of Student Affairs
Siera Yu-Nique Price
Siera Yu-Nique is a senior at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Graduating this Spring 2018, Siera is pursuing a double undergraduate degree in Business Management and Women Studies. Coming from the sunshine state of California, she graduated with honors from El Camino Real Charter High School in Woodland Hills. She joined SHRM in Fall of 2017, and will serve on the executive board as the Director of Student Affairs this Spring 2018 semester. As Director of
Student Affairs, Siera is responsible for recruiting new members and planning club socials events. In her spare time, Siera enjoys traveling, online shopping, and planning weddings.
Director of Public Relations
Kaytee is currently a Junior at the University of Hawaii at Manoa double majoring in Accounting and Management Information Systems. This is her second semester being a part of SHRM, and her first semester serving on the executive board as the Director of Public Relations. As the Director of Public Relations, her responsibilities include creating newsletters and e-magazines for SHRM professionals, maintaining social media platforms and the SHRM website, and finding sponsorships for events held throughout the semester. She is hoping to learn more about HR in Hawaii, network with professionals, and make new friendships with SHRM’s members this semester. During her free time, she enjoys dancing with Hawaii’s Hip Hop community, rollerblading, and online shopping.
